Exacting Sitework for Successful Construction
Building from the ground up
Excavation Contractors in Kansas City
Kissick Construction Company is often the first team on the site of a project. Among the leading excavation contractors in Kansas City, we pride ourselves on understanding the technical requirements necessary to successfully accomplish everything from moving earth and demolition to finish grading and landscaping. Our specialty is bringing together many different disciplines to prepare a site for the next stages of construction.
Earthwork isn’t just about moving dirt around. At Kissick Construction we use the latest technology to calculate how much material is needed to be removed from the site or brought on site.
Our survey department and experienced estimators work in unison to estimate material quantities accurately and to come up with ways to save the owner money. Earthwork is normally the first scope of work performed and cost savings on the front end of the project can be extremely important to the project’s overall budget. Having accurate information is crucial in the overall efficiency of labor and equipment. Using the information gathered by our experienced survey team, our talented project team can decide on the right equipment and the right amount of labor. At Kissick we also perform clearing and grubbing, pavement demolition, structural excavation, fly ash stabilization and much more.
DAVID KISSICK | Vice President / Estimator
Utilities, Trenchless Technology, Site Development
David has served in many capacities at Kissick during his 20+ years of experience. From low-man on a crew to pipe foreman to “gopher” in the office to estimating and managing multi-million dollar projects, David has experienced a lot in his young career. David serves as an estimator on a variety of underground utility and earthwork projects. He has also led the firm’s expansion into self-performing trenchless sewer pipe rehabilitation work.
He is a 5th generation Kissick in the construction business. He has 5 children with his wife Monica, and a Border Collie named Roxy.
Crushing and Recycling of Concrete, Rock and Aggregates
Our mobile crushing process can take demolished concrete and excavated rock and crush it into material that can be used on site. For example, we can take demolished sidewalk and curb from an existing site and crush it into AB-3 material to be used for the building pad of a proposed building. This can result in significant cost savings to the client and keeps demolished concrete out of our landfills.
Site Grading and Preparation for Roads and Buildings
Kissick Construction is a full service earthwork, grading, and excavation contractor in Kansas City. No challenge is too big and no project is too small. Whether it’s moving 2 million cubic yards on a single project or a much smaller project, Kissick Construction doesn’t say no to opportunity.
Whether in preparation for road projects, slope stabilization, or reduction of soil expansion and contraction around buildings, our crews are experienced in the utilization of fly-ash to stabilize soils.
Landfill Construction and Environmental Compliance
Kissick Construction is practiced in meeting the exacting regulatory and engineering requirements of landfill construction through our attention to detail and multidisciplinary skill set. Additionally, Kissick has experience with the unique challenges of contaminated brownfield sites.
