As co-founder of Kissick Construction, Pete has over 30 years of experience and leadership in the construction industry. He has developed a strong reputation for providing innovative thinking to solve complex engineering challenges. As President of the company, he shares his personal philosophy with the team at Kissick: work hard to complete a project you are proud to own. Love what you do and take time to share your talents with your co-workers and your community.

Fun Fact

He is an enormous live music fan and attends concerts whenever he can.

CHRIS HIBDON | Chief Financial Officer

About

Chris Hibdon provides direction for the financial operations of the corporation, subsidiaries, and projects including both operational and accounting functions.

Chris had over 22 years of experience working in the financial side of the construction industry prior to joining Kissick Construction. Previously, she was a partner in the firm Hoover Hibdon PC where her practice focused on working with clients active in the construction and engineering industries. A key consultant for Kissick Construction for many years, Hibdon left her consulting practice in 2020 to join Kissick Construction full-time as CFO.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science of Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Missouri Kansas City, and is a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants. Chris enjoys continuing her history of civic engagement at Kissick Construction.

Fun Fact

A softball mom at heart, Chris enjoys spending weekends with her two daughters at the ball field.

DAVID KISSICK | Vice President / Estimator

About

David has served in many capacities at Kissick during his 20+ years of experience. From low-man on a crew to pipe foreman to “gopher” in the office to estimating and managing multi-million dollar projects, David has experienced a lot in his young career. David serves as an estimator on a variety of underground utility and earthwork projects. He has also led the firm’s expansion into self-performing trenchless sewer pipe rehabilitation work.

Fun Fact

He is a 5th generation Kissick in the construction business. He has 5 children with his wife Monica, and a Border Collie named Roxy.

LLOYD J. KISSICK, IV | Vice President / Estimator

About

A 20-year veteran of Kissick Construction, Lloyd Kissick brings a unique perspective to the firm leadership. As a fifth generation Kissick, Lloyd began his construction career as a young field laborer. His career has progressively grown from laborer, carpenter, and field superintendent into estimating and project management. In early 2019, he joined the senior leadership team of Kissick Construction.

Fun Fact

Lloyd is proud to be the fourth and father to the fifth in the Lloyd J. Kissick line.

CHAD LAVOI | Corporate Safety Director

Chad takes the responsibility for ensuring the safety of each person on our job sites very seriously. He cares for the team and is directly responsible for the overall implementation and supervision of Kissick Construction’s safety and health program. Collaborating alongside OSHA and the Builders Association of Kansas City, Chad has helped to form a partnership and establish a specific Safety Plan for the company.

Fun Fact

Chad loves being outside no matter what, preferably with family and friends off-road riding, boating or at the beach.

Former fun fact: Kissick’s #1 outdoorsman. Chad prefers to be outside no matter the weather.

MATT ROTHERMEL | Vice President of Operations

About

Matt Rothermel provides construction operations and project management leadership to the entire Kissick field production team. He oversees the efforts of all operations including projects, oversight of equipment, vendors, subcontractors, and overhead for Kissick. His field perspective and attention to detail translate naturally into his project management style, which has earned the respect of his clients and the engineers he’s worked with. Matt’s 20 plus years of construction experience provides a solid foundation for his research, identification, and ultimate implementation of new initiatives and technologies to support the continued growth and success of the firm.

Fun Fact

In his free time, he loves to explore new places far and near.

SONYA YANCEY | Human Resources Director

About

Sonya is responsible for all matters pertaining to human resources, including staffing plans, compensation, benefits, training and development, budgeting, and labor relations.

She has a combined 25 years of experience in providing back office support services and specializes in human resource management and benefit administration, with knowledge of payroll process management and implementation as well. Sonya has experience facilitating union agreements and ensuring compliance with state, federal, DOT, DOL, OFCCP and FMCSA regulations.

Fun Fact

Sonya loves all things outdoors, including planting her vegetable and flower gardens, hiking, and riding horses, dirt bikes and four-wheelers.
