Hwy 150 Outer Roads Improvements – Grandview, MO

Construction Projects in Kansas City

Roads & Bridges, Earthwork

Kissick teamed with Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company on the Hwy-150 Outer Roads Improvements, a design-build venture for the extension of the outer road systems east of Interstate I-49 and north of Missouri Route 150. The project completed key connections between Route 150 and the I-49 outer road systems, and included a new road and pre-cast girder bridge creek crossing, a lighted pedestrian tunnel and a bicycle repair station to the park and trail system along Highway 150.

The Hwy-150 Outer Roads Improvements provide a walkable and bicycle-friendly environment with excellent access to current and future businesses along the improved corridors. The project also included the redecking of an outer road bridge which was severely deteriorated.

In February 2017, the American Public Works Association-KC Chapter named the MO Hwy-150 Outer Roads Improvements “Best 2017 Public Works Transportation Project” under $5 million. And In April 2017, the KC Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers named the improvements the “2016 Project of the Year.”
