Trench Safety Stand Down is an event we hold annually in June to participate in Trench Safety Awareness Week, emphasizing safety around jobsite trenches and excavations.

As an industry leader in excavation and underground utility construction, Kissick Construction Company is proud to continue the tradition of setting our tools down for a couple hours and joining together to highlight best practices in trench excavation safety.

The safety of Kissick employees is job one, but it doesn’t just happen. It takes planning and practice to achieve! The 2023 event was at Truman Sports Complex, reminding us of how the Chiefs stay on the top of their game – they follow a game plan and they practice it often. Our employees stay safe by planning for safety, and practicing safety personally. But this is no game: it means staying productive, healthy, uninjured and ALIVE.

Thankful for Safety!

Thank you to our trade partners who supported us in this effort: Kansas City Winwater, Lockton Companies, Taylor Cook with Badger Infrastructure Solutions, United Rentals – Trench Safety, MoKan Laborers Training Center, and the KCMO Fire Department Rescue Team.

Big Thanks to our Director of Corporate Safety Chad La Voi, CRIS for his dedication and leadership to make this annual event successful!
