Thornton Street Improvements – Leavenworth, Kansas

Kissick Construction was the prime contractor for the Thornton Street Improvements in Leavenworth, Kansas. Kissick completed the reconstruction of Thornton Street between Fifth Street and 10th Avenue. The project scope included the replacement of a traffic signal, sidewalks and curbs on both sides of the street, ADA ramps, stormwater management, and new asphalt paving.

As part of the project, Kissick Construction installed three box culverts utilizing precast RCB to replace the old stormwater components: a 6’ x 5’ RCB culvert and two 6’ x 6’ RCB culverts. Form liner textures were utilized on the culvert wing walls. A new 8-inch sanitary sewer line was installed under the street, incorporating Kissick’s utility construction expertise.
