Pete B. Browne
Pete Browne brings to the firm’s clients over 30 years of professional construction management experience. His energy and entrepreneurial spirit were instrumental in co-founding Kissick Construction Company, Inc., along with Jim Kissick, and are instrumental in its current success and future growth. His duties include estimating, budgeting and value engineering, project management, contract administration, and field operations oversight for heavy civil work in the greater Kansas City area and across the Midwest.
Mr. Browne manages primarily structural concrete and industrial facility improvement projects for the firm. He has significant experience with multi-phase plant expansion programs, incorporating the sitework, concrete foundation and underground utilities with the architectural, mechanical, and electrical trades, along with the Owner’s production requirements of the facility, into the overall construction sequencing. He has extensive experience in a wide range of manufacturing, including a heavy concentration in automotive assembly and power generation projects. He has managed single contracts up to 120 million dollars, for clients including: General Motors Corporation, NASA Lewis Research Center, Anheuser-Busch Brewery, CertainTeed Corporation, Kansas City Power & Light, and Aquila, Inc.
Vice President of Administration
Brenda Richmond brings to Kissick Construction over 25 years experience in the management of office related activities for construction firms. She is one of the founding employees of Kissick Construction and has been instrumental in the growth and development of the company. Prior to the start up of Kissick Construction, she worked with the founding partners while at another construction firm. Her loyalty and tenure with the partners is extremely valuable to the satisfaction of the rich client history of Kissick Construction.
Along with the administrative functions for Kissick Construction, Brenda manages the Accounting, Human Relations and Technology branches of the company. Her responsibilities include coordinating the activities of respective vendors and consultants related to the operation of the business.
Vice President of Operations
In his 20 years of experience in the construction industry, Matt has had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects. From laborer foreman to project manager to his current role with the firm, Matt is recognized for his expertise in field management, site logistics coordination and collective decision making.
Matt’s role includes budget analysis, construction scheduling, vendor and materials management, job costing and quality control. He specializes in projects with difficult construction conditions and schedules.
David has served in many capacities at Kissick during his 20 years of experience. From low-man on a crew to pipe foreman to “gopher” in the office to estimating and managing multi-million dollar projects, David has experienced a lot in his young career. David serves as an estimator on a variety of underground utility and earthwork projects. He has also led the firm’s expansion into self-performing trenchless sewer pipe rehabilitation work. David is a 5th generation Kissick in the construction business. The legacy of his father and Kissick Construction co-founder Lloyd J. "Jim" Kissick, III inspires him on a daily basis.
Lloyd J. Kissick, IV
A 20-year veteran of Kissick Construction, Lloyd Kissick brings a unique perspective to the firm leadership. As a fifth generation Kissick, Lloyd began his construction career as a young field laborer. His career has progressively grown from laborer, carpenter, and field superintendent into estimating and project management. In early 2019, he joined the senior leadership team of Kissick Construction.
In recent years, Lloyd has provided facility management services to a variety of clients. His extensive field expertise combined with his ability to coordinate fleet and equipment contracts have supported the ongoing operations for Kissick’s clients. Lloyd is an integral member to Kissick project teams. His understanding of constructability and focus on schedule and cost is a valuable resource.
Senior Project Manager
As a Project Manager with Kissick Construction, John brings 15 years of construction management experience and expertise with complex underground utility projects in congested urban settings including municipal water and wastewater systems. He understands the importance of consensus building with stakeholders to best balance construction efficiency with impacts to daily operations, traffic, and the general public. John’s responsibilities as project manager include schedule development, material procurement, field compliance and project documentation.
Vice President of Corporate Safety
In his role as Kissick’s corporate safety manager, Tom provides technical safety and health support to the firm’s production and corporate personnel. He brings over 20 years in construction management — much of which entails development and implementation of safety and health training and programs. Tom closely monitors the ever-fluid array of governing regulations and provides support to field and office personnel to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety guidelines. In addition, Tom draws on his experience in the industrial environment and offers extensive knowledge on plant safety requirements including shut downs, outages, and challenging construction periods. Tom’s primary responsibility at Kissick Construction is to ensure all employees are dedicated to safe performance of their duties which translates to a key measure in the success of a project. He maintains, monitors, and reports the company’s safety records and executes job site inspections, employee training, program development, rule enforcement, and workers’ compensation claims.
