CenterPoint Properties Site Development

Construction Projects in Kansas City

Earthwork, Utilities

This project involved the site development of a 160-acre site in south Kansas City for what would become the CenterPoint – Kansas City Southern Intermodal Center. The work included the demolition and crushing of 316,000 square yards of the former Richards-Gebaur Air Base runways and taxiways and mass excavation and grading of more than 2 million cubic yards of soil and rock in a short three-month period for site development.

Kissick Construction served as the general contractor and self-performed all of the work except for asphalt paving and electrical lighting installation.
